IPTV on MAG 250/254/256/322 Box

  • If you have a MAG 254/256/322 set-top box, follow our User Setup Guide.
  • If you don’t have a MAG set-top box, you can order one from our store, at a reasonable price, shipped direct to your door.

Note: our Nordisk TV service works on an older MAG250 box, but as this model is no longer supported by the manufacturer with software updates, it may have issues. We would suggest you upgrade your MAG250 to at least  MAG254 set-top box, available in our store.

MAG250/254/256/322 STB

  • Connect MAG DEVICE to TV and Internet. Then do as follows
  • Go to : Settings—> System Settings —> Servers—>Portals
  • Set Portal 1 Name ( Nordisk TV)
  • Set Portal 1 URL ( see into your E-mail )
  • Set Portal 2 Name ( see into your E-mail ) add this only If you order second subscription or leave this empty
  • Set Portal 2 URL ( see into your E-mail ) add this only If you order second subscription or leave this empty
  • Save everything
  • Reboot device
  • After the box is restarted , wait until the TV screen shows the channels.
  • In case you have STB Blocked message press F1 button on the remote control.
Smart TV

Samsung, LG / Amazon Fire Stick

Setup instruction for a Samsung/LG Smart TV or Amazon Fire Stick

  • Nordisk TV service uses a media controller app called ‘Smart IPTV’, this app is free to use for a period of seven days, you will then be asked to make a one-time donation of € 5.49 (Euros) towards the Smart IPTV app development.
  • In order to check if your Samsung/LG Smart TV or Amazon Fire Stick is compatible with the Nordisk TV Service go to the Samsung or LG Smart TV app store screen and search for the ‘Smart IPTV’ app. If the app is not displayed on the main screen you may have to search for it in ‘All Apps’ or ‘Updates’.
  • Launch the ‘Smart IPTV’ app.
  • Make a note of the ‘MAC Address’ which is displayed on the screen.
  • Go to http://siptv.eu/mylist/ from any web browser.
  • Go to the section  ‘Add external playlist links (URLs)’ and enter your ‘Mac’ address and the unique Nordisk TV subscription URL into the ‘Link’ field.
  • Ensure the ‘countries’ drop-down selection on ‘Various’.
  • Check in the ‘Keep online’ checkbox.
  • Click on the ‘Add Link’ button
  • Restart the ‘Smart IPTV’ app or TV.
  •  In order to view channel groups, press the blue button on your remote control

1 – Download Smart IPTV into your TV
( This is only for Samsung and LG Smart TV )

Go to your TV apps store
Search for Smart IPTV
Install Smart IPTV and open Smart IPTV
Now you can see your MAC address on the right side of your screen

2- Add channels into Smart IPTV
Go to www.siptv.eu/mylist/
Add your MAC and your M3U Subscription URL provided by Nordisk TV
Click on Add Link

PC/MAC (VLC Software)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING MEDIA PLAYER &  VIEWING IPTV ON WINDOWS

OPTION # 1 – EASY :

  • Download and install the following link ‘VLC Media Player’ – http://www.videolan.org
  • Welcome to the ‘How to’ page for Windows set up….
  • Open the VLC icon and you will note ‘’Playlist is currently empty’’
  • From top left hand corner choose, MEDIA, scroll down to OPEN NETWORK STREAMING, under NETWORK, copy and paste the network URL address you received in your confirmation email.
  • Press PLAY and your channel link will appear, double click to see Full Channel List!
  • You can now save this link in the MEDIA LIBRARY on left hand pane for future viewing.

OPTION # 2  – RECOMMENDED :

1. Download and save the link you were sent to file on your PC
2. Open the VLC Media Player, select Media Library from menu
3. Move cursor to blank window and right click to ‘ADD FILE’
4. Select the location where you saved the download and choose ‘OPEN’ , your file should appear, double click and your full channel list is ready to go and saved in your Media Library for future viewing.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING IPTV ON YOUR iOS DEVICE

Please select ONE of the following media apps from your iTunes store (please note there is a small one off fee depending on your location)

Once you have installed the app via iTunes store, from the left menu navigate to Remote Play List
To add Remote Playlist, click the Red “+” button on the top right of the page. A popup will appear asking if you want to add an M3U URL or a JSON URL. Please select the M3U URL option.
The final step is to Name your Remote Playlist ie IPTV, then copy and paste the link we sent you.  Now click “Add” to save it and you are done. Double click and your full channel list will be there for you. Very simple, quick and easy

VLC MEDIA PLAYER

  • Choose the version according to your iOS device, please note that the VLC app requires iOS 6.1 or later.
  • Open the VLC icon and you will note ‘’Empty Media Library’’ –From top left hand corner choose the cone icon, scroll down to OPEN NETWORK STREAM, copy and paste the link – network URL address – you received in your confirmation email.
  • Press PLAY and your channel link will appear, double click to see Full Channel List! You can now save your channel list in the MEDIA LIBRARY on top left hand menu for future viewing.

Check ONLY change system volume
Go back to your Settings Page and go to GUI
Check ONLY Show channels as group folder
Restart Perfect Player
Now you see channels list on the left side

Openbox

This tutorial will guide you through the simple setup instruction for Openbox.

Openbox Setup Instructions:
Open ‘Intenet Browser’.
Copy and paste your M3U URL into the ‘Address bar’ and press ‘Enter’.
It will ask you to either ‘save’ or ‘save as’.
Choose ‘save as’ and change the file name to ‘Nordisk TV
Copy the saved file from your computer to a USB stick then put the stick in the Back of the Openbox.

On the remote press the following:
– MENU
– Network Local settings
– Network App
– IPTV SHOP
– Yellow button to read from USB
– Start Watching right after Openbox says ‘success”

Troubleshooting Openbox

If you have any problems viewing the Channels please follow this recommended fix:
Restart your Openbox and Wi-Fi Router.

KODI

(XBMC) Version 17 & Up

How to Setup PVR IPTV Simple Client Kodi Krypton 17

 

Open KodiSelect TV

 

Select PVR IPTV Simple Client

Select Configure

 

Select General

 

Then Select M3U PlayList URL

Enter the URL of your M3U PlayList and select OK

 

If you have an M3U text file stored locally on your network/computer/box then set the Location to Local Path (include Local Network)

 

Navigate to where the file is stored and select it

Select OK

 

 

Wait for notification of channels loaded

Now when you go back to the Home Screen and select TV it should look like this

KODI

Version V16 or lower

  • Open Kodi
  • Select SYSTEM
  • Select TV (or Live TV if you are on a version lower than 15.2 and if you are then consider updating)
  • Select General
  • Select EnabledYou will now see a pop-up saying that you have no PVR Client enabled.
  • Select OK
  • Scroll down and select PVR IPTV Simple Client
  • Select Enable
  • Select Configure
  • In General select M3U PlayList URL
  • Add your M3U URL into the address section
  • Select OK
  • Select OK again
  • Reboot Kodi
  • On your Home Screen, you should now see TV (or Live TV if on an older version of Kodi).
  • Open that to see the live channel list

STB EMULATOR

This tutorial will guide you through the simple setup instruction for STB Emulator

STB Emulator’ can emulate the following IPTV set-top boxes.

STB Emulator Setup Instructions:

  • Download ‘STB Emulator’ from the Google Play Store here.
  • Install and Load the ‘STB Emulator’ app and you will see your ‘MAC address’ on screen.
  • Tap near the ‘Top right corner’ and then click ‘Settings’ – the 4th icon from the right.
  • Tap ‘Profiles’.
  • Tap ‘Test portal’ to modify the existing profile or ‘Add profile’ to start a new one.
  • Tap ‘STB Model’.
  • Tap ‘MAG 250’ or whichever STB you wish to emulate.
  • Tap ‘Portal settings’.
  • Enter your ‘Portal URL’ (Check your activation e-mail) and click OK.
  • Now tap ‘Screen Resolution’.
  • Choose ‘1280×720’ (You can choose higher with internet speed 16+ Mbps).
  • Exit the app and restart.
  • You will now see your channel list.
  • Troubleshooting STB Emulator
  • If you have any problems viewing the Channels please follow this recommended fix:
    Restart your App, Device/Box, and Wi-Fi Router.
Black screen on my TV

If your TV shows only black screen when TV box is connected, please do following:

Restart box (Pull out electric plug, and plug it in again)
Change cables if the error seems related to the screen

MAG STB Connection via Ethernet cable

Connect your IPTV box to your internet via Ethernet cable
Connect your IPTV box to your TV via HDMI or AV Cable
Select your input on your TV
Connect power cable to IPTV box
When you turn on your box, please allow the box to validate – it will only take a few min. This is only the first time you turn it on, unless it’s disconnected from power completely.

MAG STV Connection via Wi-Fi

Disconnect TV box from internet, and unplug the box form the electric socket for a while,
until you see Page loading error screen shows.
You will see System settings option on the screen, so navigate there and press OK.
When you see menu, go to Networks, and press OK.
Scroll to Wireless (Wi-Fi), press OK and go to Auto (DHCP).
Press OK and check available networks.

If you can find your network, press OK and in field SSID, you should see your home network name.
If not, use KB button on your remote control and try to type in your details.
In field authentication mode WPA 2 PSK should be visible.
If not, with remote control navigate left/right to find this option.
Encryption field should be set to AES.
Key or passphrase is where you need to type the password of your home network, and press OK to save.
Before you save it, press KB button again to loose the keyboard.

When you are finished, press Exit button until you are back to the page loading error page.
Go to field Portal 1, press OK and portal will start loading.

 


Search function video club
You can search for a specific program in the video club by pressing the blue button (F4) on your remote, choose search and insert the program title and press OK. When the program(s) have been found, you need to exit the search function by pressing EXIT on your remote. Now you can chose the recording by using the arrows up and down. Press OK on your remote to start viewing the recorded program.

Connection problem/loading message 

When you get the loading, or connection problem message on your screen the problems is normally the internet, please check following:
-The internet is connected correctly.
-If you still have problems, turn off your router and box.
After 30 seconds turn the box and router on again.
Let it run its course without pressing any buttons and it should come on.

Error Media

Reload the web page. If this doesn’t resolve your issue, move on to step 2.
Clear your browser’s cache, then reload the web page. Didn’t work? Proceed to step 3.
Clear your browser’s cache and cookies, restart your browser (or reboot your device), then navigate back to the page you were on.

How to customize the City Shown on the Main Screen? 
From Main Menu select Settings, then selectLOCALISATION, then selectCountry and/or City and press OK.
The on screen keyboard will appear ready for you to type in the name of your desired city.
If the country / city is available on our system the name will appear.
Press EXIT (to close the on screen keyboard) and use the arrow keys to select the desired country/city and then press OK to confirm the selection.
If all is correct then press the GREEN Hotkey, marked SAVE, and you will be prompted to save STB settings by pressing OK again.
The box will reboot and your custom city will be displayed.

Inntet signal

If your TV has 2 HDMI ports – please try different HDMI port. In case there is disconnection on cable itself – please try with the spare one.
If you have changed the TV (moved the box from one to another location / TV) please check the settings in Bios menu.

Guidance is enclosed:
Reboot TV box and hold MENU button for several seconds, while screen is black (on some RC’s it’s button with 3 dots and 3 dashes), until Blue screen with white menu appear.

Set Section “TV System” to Auto (or to value from Possible values table supported by your TV), by pressing the right to set the desired value
Set Section “Graphic Res.” to TV System Res. (or to value from Possible values table supported by your TV), by pressing the right to set the desired value
Go to “Exit & Save”
Section “Exit & Save” press the right
Confirm “OK”

Also, try with the RCA cable that came with TV box. Matching source on TV is SCART – for RCA cable.

Mode not supported

Please try to do following:
Reboot TV box and hold MENU button for several seconds, while screen is black (on some RC’s it’s button with 3 dots and 3 dashes), until Blue screen with white menu appear. 

  • Set Section TV System to Auto (or to value from Possible values table supported by your TV), by pressing the right to set the desired value
  • Set Section Graphic Res.” to TV System Res. (or to value from Possible values table supported by your TV), by pressing the right to set the desired value
  • Go to Exit & Save
  • Section Exit & Save press the right
  • Confirm OK

No input
If you get the message “no input” on the screen, then you are using the wrong input on your TV.

If you have connected the cable to the HDMI1, please make sure you are on the HDMI1 input channel.

No Internet Connection, LAN Cable
Please check that you have a good connection on your LAN Cable between the STB and your Internet Router,
and check you router is switched on.
A quick reference point is the led lights that are on the LAN Socket on the back of the STB.
One of these lights indicates a connection is present, and the second light normally flickering indicates traffic flow.

No Internet Connection, Wi-Fi Dongle
Please check that your Wireless Router is switched on, and check that the Wi-Fi Dongle is working.
It has a Green Light on the top of it that flashes to indicate connection / traffic flow.

No sound on MAG STB
If you do not have any sound on all of the channels, please try following:
Check the volume on both devices – TV and box
Try another HDMI cable

NTP
Cycle power to your TV box and monitor your TV screen – within 1-3 minutes screen will show message

‘ Press Menu to enter service menu / system settings/

You should press Menu on remote control. Now got to System setting / Servers / General. You should see an empty field for NTP server – press KB on remote control and use the virtual keyboard to write:
pool.ntp.org
When finished, press KB again (to close it), press OK to Save, press Exit twice and navigate to Reboot device / OK
After this , you should not receive the same message. Except if Device is not up-to-date.

Page Loading Error
When you get the message page loading error on your screen the problems is normally the internet, please check following:

1. The internet is connected correctly.
2. If you still have problems, turn off your router and box. After 30 seconds turn the box and router on again.
3. If you use Wi-Fi, please check that the Wi-Fi has been connected correctly (Wi-Fi on) and does your IP address appear.

If not, try to connect the box with Ethernet cable at the same time and when IP address appears Wi-Fi should be connected.
4. Another problem can be that you have not inserted the correct URL. Contact your provider.

Firmware update
Reboot your TV box, by removing and returning power supply to the TV Box.

On boot up, please monitor your TV screen until Loading Portal Press MENU to enter portal selection screen message is prompt. As advised press Menu button on your Remote Control. Then enter System settings, scroll down to Software update. Update method should be already set to HTTP – if not, use Right arrow on RC (arrow is next to button OK) to change to HTTP.

Once HTTP is selected, press OK to Verify and F1 to start update. After update installation, device will reboot automatically.

Set Time on STB
For the problem with date and time, please do the following:
Press OK to get the channel list up
Press exit on the remote (its near the arrows)
Go to settings
Press OK
Go to localization and here you can update the time settings.
Then go back to Servers and enter pool.ntp.org

Favorite Channel List
With the IPTV box it’s possible to create a list of your most viewed programs.

It’s fast and easy to do.
You simply need to follow these few steps:

Press the OK button on your remote to access the channel list .

You will see four colors at the button of your screen – Red (F1) , Green (F2), Yellow (F3) and Blue (F4)

Simply “stand” on each channel and press the yellow button (F3) on your remote to add them to your favorite list. A yellow star will be added to the channel on your list.

When you have chosen the channels for your favorite list you press the green button (F2) and choose favorite. Now the only list you see is with your favorite channels.

Should you wish to return to the original again, simply press the green button (F2) again and chose by numbers + info.

You can always delete your favorite channels, simply by pressing the yellow button (F3)
